Weekly Contests

The FMFL season is more than wins and losses. It's the unforgettable performances, the improbable upsets, the heartbreaking defeats, and the moments that have managers talking long after Monday Night Football comes to an end. While every matchup moves us one step closer to the Shiva Bowl, the journey is filled with countless stories worth celebrating along the way.

To honor those moments, the league features a series of weekly contests that recognize excellence, perseverance, precision, and, on occasion, spectacular misfortune. From dominant performances and impossible nail-biters to kickers stealing the spotlight and defenses carrying a team to victory, each contest shines a light on a different chapter of the fantasy football season. Some rewards are earned through skill. Others arrive courtesy of luck, timing, or the cruel sense of humor that fantasy football has perfected. Regardless of how they're won, every one of them has earned its place in FMFL tradition.

Weekly High Score Contest

Every week, twelve managers set their lineups with the same goal: score enough points to defeat the opponent standing across from them. But occasionally, one team rises above the rest, delivering a performance that leaves the entire league chasing from behind.

The Weekly High Score Contest recognizes the highest-scoring team of the week, regardless of the matchup. Whether fueled by a superstar performance, a perfectly timed lineup decision, or a little fantasy football magic, earning the week's top score is an achievement all its own. Wins may come and go throughout the season, but for one unforgettable week, one manager can proudly claim to have fielded the most dominant roster in the FMFL.

FMFL Pick 'em Challenge

Managing a fantasy football roster is one challenge. Predicting the outcome of every FMFL game is another entirely.

The FMFL Pick'em Challenge gives every manager the opportunity to prove that their football knowledge extends beyond their own lineup. Each week, one participant picks the winners of every FMFL matchup, trying to predict the winners and achieve the record for the season. It's a contest built on equal parts insight, instinct, and the occasional lucky guess, reminding us all that even the experts don't always see the upset coming. When the final games conclude, one manager earns the satisfaction of proving they understood the FMFL just a little better than everyone else—at least for that week.

Week 1: Opening Week Bang!

The NFL season begins with a bang, and so does the FMFL. This contest celebrates the one player who explodes out of the gate and reminds everyone why fantasy football is equal parts preparation, luck, and pure chaos. Whether it's a quarterback throwing for five touchdowns, a running back refusing to be tackled, or a receiver catching everything in sight, the manager who starts the week's highest-scoring player claims the first bragging rights of the season. It's the earliest statement a team can make—and sometimes, the only one they'll make all year.

Week 2: Biggest Blow Out

Some wins are close. Some wins are lucky. And some wins require the fantasy equivalent of someone politely asking, “Do we need to call someone?”

Biggest Blow Out Week honors the team that doesn’t just win, but wins by the largest margin of victory. This is for the manager whose lineup turns a weekly matchup into a public service announcement about roster negligence. Starters go nuclear, opponents go quiet, and by Monday night, the only thing left is a smoking crater where competitive balance used to be.

It’s not just a win. It’s a statement. And possibly evidence.

Week 3: Running Back Week

There are few sights more beautiful in fantasy football than a running back who simply refuses to go down.

Running Back Week honors the workhorse who churns out yards, bulldozes defenders, and turns every goal-line carry into six precious fantasy points. Whether it's a bruising power back wearing down a defense or a speedster disappearing into the secondary, this contest belongs to the player who spends Sunday making defensive coordinators question their career choices.

After all, championships may be won through the air—but there's still something deeply satisfying about watching your running back run over everyone else's hopes.

Week 4: Quarterback Week

Every fantasy roster revolves around one player: the quarterback. They're the face of the franchise, the engine of the offense, and, more often than not, the reason a manager spends Sunday pacing around the living room.

Quarterback Week celebrates the signal-caller who puts the entire league on notice. Touchdowns through the air, touchdowns on the ground, impossible comebacks, and stat lines that seem almost unfair—this is the week where one quarterback carries a fantasy team on his shoulders and leaves everyone else checking waiver wire options by Tuesday.

Because sometimes, greatness starts with the guy calling the signals.

Week 5: Receiver Week

Wide receivers don't just make catches—they make highlights.

Wide Receiver Week celebrates the game's ultimate playmakers: the athletes capable of turning an ordinary five-yard slant into an unforgettable touchdown. One spectacular afternoon can include acrobatic grabs, deep bombs, impossible toe-taps, and enough yards after the catch to make defenders reconsider their life decisions.

This is the award for the manager whose receiver simply couldn't be covered. Because while every reception counts in fantasy football, the unforgettable ones usually come from someone wearing gloves and celebrating in the end zone.

Week 6: Tight End Week

The tight end position has always been fantasy football's greatest mystery. One week they're invisible. The next, they look like the centerpiece of an NFL offense. Picking the right one often feels less like strategy and more like deciphering ancient prophecy.

TE Week honors the manager whose tight end rises above the weekly chaos to lead all others in fantasy scoring. Whether it's a red-zone machine, a breakout performance, or simply the one tight end who remembered he was allowed to catch passes that week, this contest rewards the rare manager who got the position exactly right.

Because in fantasy football, finding an elite tight end isn't just an advantage—it's practically a superpower.

Week 7: Team 'D' Week

Defense may not sell jerseys, but in the FMFL, it can absolutely win you a week.

Team D Week celebrates the defense and special teams unit that wreaks the most havoc on the scoreboard. Sacks, interceptions, fumble recoveries, pick-sixes, blocked kicks, and even the occasional special teams miracle all count toward fantasy glory. While everyone else is obsessing over quarterbacks and wide receivers, one savvy manager watches their defense pile up points like it's auditioning for the Pro Bowl.

Sometimes the best offense really is a terrifying defense. And sometimes your opponent spends Sunday wondering how they lost to a bunch of linebackers and a punt returner.

Week 8: Individual Defensive Player Week

While everyone else is watching the ball, this award belongs to the player chasing it.

IDP Week recognizes the league's most dominant defensive performance, where tackles, sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles, and game-changing plays become fantasy gold. Whether it's a linebacker patrolling the middle, an edge rusher living in the opponent's backfield, or a defensive back making quarterbacks regret their decisions, one defender rises above them all.

Offense may fill the highlight reels, but defense wins championships... and this week, it wins a contest.

Week 9: Crash and Burn Week

Every season has a week we'd all rather forget. This contest celebrates it.

Crash & Burn Week recognizes the unfortunate manager whose starting lineup produces the fewest fantasy points of the week. Injuries pile up. Studs disappear. Sleepers hit snooze. And somehow, a lineup that looked perfectly respectable on Thursday becomes a cautionary tale by Monday night.

The silver lining? At least there's an award for surviving the wreckage. In the FMFL, even spectacular failure deserves its moment in the spotlight. After all, if you're going down, you might as well make league history doing it.

Week 10: Kicker Week

They spend most of the game standing on the sideline... until suddenly they're the most important player on your fantasy roster.

Kicker Week celebrates the often-overlooked specialist who quietly piles up points while everyone else is watching touchdowns. Fifty-yard field goals, perfect extra points, and clutch late-game kicks can turn an ordinary fantasy week into a championship-worthy performance. It's the one position that can make a manager cheer louder for a field goal than a touchdown.

Proof that in fantasy football, every point matters—even the ones that come off a single foot.

Week 11: Too Close to Call Week

Some fantasy matchups are decided long before Monday Night Football. This isn't one of them.

2 Close 2 Call Week celebrates the manager who escapes with the narrowest victory of the week. Every catch, every extra point, every stat correction, and every kneel-down suddenly feels monumental as the scoreboard refuses to separate the two teams. One bounce of the football can mean the difference between celebration and heartbreak.

These are the games that have managers refreshing the fantasy app every thirty seconds and refusing to believe it's over until the final whistle blows. Because in the FMFL, sometimes surviving is every bit as impressive as dominating.

After all, a win by 0.04 points still counts exactly the same in the standings.

Week 12: Biggest Loser Week

Fantasy football has no sympathy.

Biggest Loser Week recognizes the manager who posts one of the highest scores of the week... and somehow still walks away with a loss. It's the ultimate case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, running headfirst into the one opponent who somehow scored just a little bit more.

In almost any other matchup, they would have cruised to victory. Instead, they're left staring at an "L" that feels completely undeserved. It's a reminder that fantasy football isn't always fair—it simply keeps score.

Sometimes the best team loses. Sometimes the schedule wins.

Week 13: Dirty 30 Week

Thirty points. It's the magic number.

Not quite impossible, but rare enough that every manager notices when a player starts creeping toward it on Sunday afternoon. Dirty 30 Week celebrates the starter who comes closest to that coveted milestone—whether they land just above it or just below. A 29.98-point masterpiece? It counts. A 30.04-point explosion? That works too.

Unlike most contests, this one isn't about scoring the most. It's about threading the needle with uncanny precision. Sometimes domination is impressive... but being almost exactly perfect is downright satisfying.

Because in the FMFL, greatness isn't always measured by how high you climb—sometimes it's measured by how close you come to thirty.

Week 14: Flex Player Week

The FLEX spot is where confidence meets chaos.

Every week, managers agonize over who deserves that final starting spot. Do you trust the reliable veteran? Roll the dice on an emerging rookie? Chase a favorable matchup? Sometimes the decision looks brilliant. Other times... well, let's not talk about it.

Flex Week celebrates the manager whose gamble pays off in spectacular fashion. Whether it's a running back, wide receiver, or tight end, the highest-scoring FLEX player proves that championships aren't won by setting the obvious lineup—they're won by making the right call when everyone else is second-guessing themselves.

Because in fantasy football, fortune doesn't always favor the bold... but this week, it certainly helps.
